He was predeceased by: his father Christoph (Linda); and his brothers, Siegfried and Helmut. He is survived by: his wife Helene Haemmerling; his children, Richard (Marie) and Teresa (Neal); his granddaughters, Nicole and Jenna (Michael); his siblings, Walther (Rosel), Gerhard, Charlotte and Manfred; and his sister-in-law Margaret.
