He was predeceased by: his wife Natalia; his father Ivan; and his brother Peter. He is survived by: his mother Vinka; his sister Nada; his children, Becca (Simon) and John; his granddaughter Talia; and his extended family, Edmonton, Croatia and Portugal. He is also survived by his family, friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Joseph's name to the Central Okanagan Hospice House or the Canadian CJD Association.
