He was predeceased by: his parents, Haruko and Mano; and his brothers, Takeshi and Tsutomu. He is survived by: his wife Etsuko; his children, Risa Drysdale (Jack), Marshall (Jolene) and Kenny; his grandchildren, Kendell of Kelowna, BC, Sydney of Kelowna, BC and Jordan of Kelowna, BC; and his siblings, Katsue Azama of Tomiko Liper and Toru Azama of Okinawa. He is also survived by husband, father, grandfather and friend.
