He was predeceased by: his brother Alan Cooney; his parents, Ron Cooney and Alice Cooney; his nephew Shawn Williams; and his brothers-in-law, Steve Williams and Reg Vollman.
He is survived by: his significant other Carolyn Bisaro-Sutherland; his stepson Geordie Sutherland; his daughter Tymara; his granddaughter Shyla; his siblings, Rod, Deb and Sandy (Gerry); and his sister-in-law Marlys.
