He was predeceased by: his son Prem; his siblings, Nachater Kaur Sandhu and Sucha Singh; and his parents, Dalip Kaur and Bishan Singh Saran.
He is survived by: his grandfather Baba; his great-grandparent Rattan Singh Saran; his wife Gurmit Kaur; his sister Rattani Kaur Choong; his children, Baksho (Daljit), Runjet, Tarsem (Pravinder), Sukh (Pam) and Gurmaj; and his sister Rao Kaur Johal. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
