She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank and Sarah; her brother Trevor; and her former husband Dr. Takehiko Kamaya. She is survived by: her husband Rev. Yasuhiro Miyakawa; her brother Derek; her stepson Muga; her sibling's children, Colin, Erin, Andrew and Matthew; and her pet Taiga.
