David Clark Lyness Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of my father, David Clark Lyness of Maple Ridge, British Columbia, on February 24, 2026. He leaves this world to continue his journey beyond, held in the love of those who mourn him.
Dad was born in Montreal, where some of my earliest memories of him were formed. In my childhood, I knew him as a gentle and kind presence. He shared with me his love of animals — taking my siblings, Sharon and David, and I to pet shops, and teaching us to notice the small and living things of this world with care and quiet wonder. In doing so, he showed us how to see life with tenderness — a gift that remained with me always.
Though distance separated us in later years, love does not recognize distance in the same way the world does. He stayed connected through quiet acts of care for his grandchildren: Troy, Vanessa, Zane, and Olivia (children of Sharon); David, Isaac, and Diana (children of David); Zoey and Anthony (children of Ronnie); and Mackenzie and Alexis (my children). In spirit and in heart, he remained part of the unfolding story of our family.
We hold gratitude for the life he lived, for the love he gave in his own way, and for the unseen threads that continue to bind us beyond time and space.
Dad, may your soul now find rest and renewal.
May you be carried gently into the vast peace that lies beyond this life, embraced by light, love, and eternal calm.
Those who wish may leave a message of sympathy on the memorial page of David Clark Lyness as a lasting tribute.
