He is survived by: his siblings, Laura Walsh and Doug Newton; his siblings-in-law, Al Scholes and Mary Zanatta; his children, Trevor Newton and Heather Fletcher; his nephew Tony Zanatta; his grandchildren, Adam (Kim Newton), Lisa (Billy Lasby), Wendy Grant and Aaron Silver; his great grandchildren, Julia Newton, Nicholas, Natalie Newton, Bella and Charlotte Lasby; his great great grandchild Rylan Newton; his wife Evelyn Dewar; and his nephew Luke.

On April 23, 2020 Captain Len Newton passed from complications of Covid19, days before his 98th birthday.
