He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Koop and Margareta Koop. He is survived by: his siblings, Franz (Henry), Margaret, Frank (Erna), Anne and Bill (Bill); his wife Joan; his daughter Sylvia; his son-in-law Rod; his stepchildren, Susan and Ken; his grandsons, Bryan, Jason, Jesse and Jamie; his stepgrandchildren, Nick, Trevor, Ashley, Dylan and Daniel; and his great grandchildren, Ayden, Payton, Ophelia, Taiya and Hanna.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of BC and Yukon in Walters name.
