She was predeceased by: her husband John Halbgwachs; and her close friend Ray Himple. She is survived by: her daughter Rita Beerstra (David); her grandchildren, Malinda Scott (Kris), Jennifer Wenzoski (Jon) and Kyle Beerstra; her great grandchildren, Adalina, Bryden, Elias, Marcus, Alexandria and Atlas; her siblings, Ronnie Meredith, Donald Meredith (Heather), Donna Toole (Donnie) and Russell Meredith; and her stepsister Linda Kelly (Rick). She is also survived by nieces, nephews.
