“I was thinking of Dennis just this morning, before I heard the very sad news. Dennis was my principal at Douglas Road a couple of times. I was lucky to attend his retirement party. As part of his speech, he told the story of how he was inspired (by a principal doing the opposite) to greet each student and chat with them at every opportunity. A simple, yet meaningful action, done in his understated way. He also loved his poster: "All I really know, I learned in Kindergarten".”

He was well known for his kind, caring and gentle heart that embraced the school community. He made me feel so special as a new teacher! He did that for so many.
