He was predeceased by : his parents, George Melling (Pat) and Wilma Melling; and his brother Garry Melling. He is survived by : his wife Gayle Melling; his children, Steven Melling (Kathy) of North Vancouver and Deborah St Laurent (Paul) of Brampton; his brother David Melling of Brampton; his grandchildren, Jennifer Chipman, Glenn Chipman, Dusty Melling, Ethan Melling and Benjamin Melling (Benji); and his great grandchildren, Nova Royko and Mason Macneil.

A memorial service was held on Friday, May 3rd 2024 at 1:00 PM at the First Memorial Funeral Service – Boal Chapel (1505 Lillooet Rd, North Vancouver, BC V7J2J1).
