He was predeceased by: his wife Jean Borovich; and his parents, Mark McGuckin and Lucio Choi. He is survived by: his stepdaughters, Leanne Dapavo (Steve) and Sandra McLean; and his grandsons, Tyler Dapavo and Benjamin McLean.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in honor of his grandson, Ben.
