She was predeceased by: her parents, Jose Sousa Pimentel and Ines Cruz Pimentel; and her sister Conceição Pimentel (Connie). She is survived by: her siblings, Adelaide Pimentel, Madalena Trovao (Jose), Teresa Farinha (Jose) and Olga Woodland (David Vass); her nieces, Margie, Susan Trovao, Lisa Farinha (Chris Parker), Jennifer, Jessica Farinha and Amanda Woodland; and her great-nephew Joel.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gilberta's memory to the Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation or Diabetes Canada.
