He was predeceased by : his parents, Hans Nissen and Inger Nissen. He is survived by : his wife Geraldine; and his siblings, Kris Matthews, Lucy Nissen, Mary Anne Winters, Cathy Young, Lars and Peter Nissen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
