He is survived by : his wife Silvia Hammerschmidt; his children, Corrina Meißner (Tim) of Germany, Nicole Bürstlein (Francesco) of Germany and Michael Hammerschmidt of Germany; and his siblings, Alfred Hammerschmidt (Holly) of Peachland and Angelica Ehrenholtz (Larry). He is also survived by six grandchildren, several nieces, and nephews.
