Margaret Clarissa Hirschsprung Obituary

On Monday March 30, 2020, Margaret Clarissa Hirschsprung of Okanagan Falls passed away peacefully at the Westview Place at the age of 90.
She was predeceased by her husband Henrik Hirschsprung, parents Eva and Wellington Harris, daughter Deborah Au, sister Evelyn, and brother Bert. She is survived by her granddaughter Chantel (Jeremy) and great-grandson Micah, and grandson Warren.
Margaret was born in Comox, British Columbia and grew up on a small farm in Dove Creek. She fondly recalled her childhood and loving parents. She went on to do nursing school in Victoria, but changed directions and did hairdressing as a career instead. She opened her own beauty shop “Artistique” in Courtenay and raised her daughter as a single mother. In 1972 she married the love of her life Henry. During their 40 years marriage, they loved to dance, go sailing, garden, and they renovated houses for a while. They moved to Oliver in 1991 and retired in Okanagan Falls in their first brand new home.
Margaret had a great sense of humor and loved being surrounded by laughter amongst family and friends. She was a very generous soul, always willing to offer her time, energy, and resources to lend a helping hand. She loved having coffee dates, gardening and big Danish Christmas parties in her home. We will all miss her peanut butter cookies.
