He was predeceased by: his parents, Adella Byron (Johnson) and Bertle Byron; his grandson Kristofer Lind; his great grandchild Emma Giddens; and his brother Clare Byron.

He is survived by: his wife Penny; his daughters, Karen Collen (Ed), Wendy Lind (Jim), Candice Giddens (John) and Cindy Middleton (Dave); his sister Ardelle Murfitt (Norm); and his sister-in-law Joan Byron. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews and cherished friends.
