It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Francis Michael Gaetz (Port Alberni, British Columbia), born in Humboldt, Saskatchewan, who passed away on April 24, 2025, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Gaetz and Helena Gaetz; his brothers, Ralph Gaetz (Anne) and Simon Gaetz (Yvette); and his in-laws, Ed, Mary-Lou McLaughlin, Gerald Shiner and Dennis Isaacson.
He is survived by: his wife Barb; his daughters, Laura Gaetz and Stacy Watton (Corey); his grandchildren, Katie-Ann Gaetz (Justin), Cole Haider (Jessie) and Krista Watton (Riley); his brothers, Joe Gaetz (Chris) and John Gaetz; and his in-laws, Jeanette Isaacson, Russ McLaughlin (Anne), Maureen Shiner and Bob McLaughlin (Sandy). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Holy Family Notre Dame Catholic Church (4731 Burke Rd, Port Alberni, BC V9Y5P1).
