He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Van Dusen and Belle Van Dusen; and his sister Karen Wutke. He is survived by: his children, Dion, Kevin (Joleen) and Nichole (Todd); his siblings, Lillian Blatch (Ian), Jim Van Dusen and Mike Van Dusen (Liane); and his brother-in-law Rick Morey (Mary).

Although Gary had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's and then was challenged by cancer, he lived his life to the fullest.
