He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Tom Gibson and Daphne Gibson of Tofino, B. C; his brothers, Kenny, David and Gary; his wife Rene Gibson (Irene); his children, Ronald, Anne-Marie, Rhona, Lisa and Tanya; his grandchildren, Ben, Jacob, Lee, Vanessa, Skyler, Levi, Brody, Warren, Cody, Teagan and Keith; and his great grandchildren, Emma-Lee and Aiden.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Tofino General Hospital Foundation or Tofino Salmon Enhancement Society.
