He was predeceased by : his parents, Emil Bittner and Nadine Bittner; his siblings, Alex Bittner and Helen Gautschi; and his former life partner Lorna Mae Barber.

He is survived by : his children, Steven, Darcy and Andrew; his spouse Ekatharina Gronau; his children, Corina and Christoph; and also Henry (Rugia).
