He is survived by: his children, Ward Nakata and Katie Dawson; his grandchildren, Damien Dawson, Chloe Nakata and Grayson Nakata; his daughter Leah Rodrigues; and his grandchildren, Sierra Rodrigues, AJ Rodrigues, Brent Nakata and Jennifer Nakata.
A memorial service was held on Wednesday, March 4th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Richmond Funeral Home (8420 Cambie Rd., Richmond, BC V6X1K1). A reception was held on Wednesday, March 4th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers or Koden, the family kindly requests donations be made to Rosewood Manor (Richmond, BC) or the Steveston Buddhist Temple.
