With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mary Teresa Jao (Richmond, British Columbia), who passed away on November 24, 2025 at the age of 64. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Mary Teresa had on those she encountered along her journey. Though Mary Teresa may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, her essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, James Arthur Deakin and Ivy Teresa Deakin; and her children, Rachel, Kylie and Darion. She was also cherished by numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the St. Joseph the Worker Parish (4451 Williams Rd, Richmond, BC V7E1J7). A reception will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, a donation box will be available at the service for the family or two charities of choice. We are so very grateful for every donation during this difficult time.
