Barbara (nee Smith) Gould June 29, 1968 – Sept 18, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Barbara “Barb, Barbie” Gould, a vibrant, loving, and compassionate woman who left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Barb passed away at Salmon Arm General Hospital, surrounded by love.
Born and raised in Kelowna, BC, Barb came into the world on June 29, 1968, she was a force of nature, she carried herself with confidence, warmth, and a sparkle that made people feel seen and loved.
Barb was a survivor. Her strength was shown love for her son, Levi, who was the center of her universe. She worked tirelessly throughout her life, beginning with a stint at TOLKO as a production laborer before moving to the coast, where she found her calling in the care industry. As a care aide, crisis intervention worker, and first aid instructor, Barb dedicated her life to helping others.
She was also a proud entrepreneur, running her own business teaching first aid, and she touched countless lives through her work and her unwavering compassion. It was on the coast that she met the love of her life, Darrell Gould.
Later, Barb moved to the Shuswap, where she raised Levi with devotion and joy. She was a woman of strong faith, her belief in GOD gave her peace and purpose.
Predeceased by her Husband Darrell, her parents Barbara Smith and Dr. Robert Smith. Barb is survived by her beloved son Levi, Levis father and friend Ken, her sisters Brenda Loyd (Jim); Debbie Chapuet; her brothers Doug Smith and Bruce Smith (Eileen) Don Hutton (Aleta), and stepdaughter Nicole Gould; nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will miss her deeply. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the hearts she had a part in healing.
Barb will be missed, celebrated, and remembered—always.
