David Duerksen Obituary
We announce the death of David Duerksen (Salmon ARM, British Columbia), who passed away on August 10, 2026, at the age of 93. David will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. David will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew David will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture his life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. David’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Abraham Duerkesen and Eva Schartner Duerksen; his daughter Janelle Curtis; and his grandsons, Joey Duerksen and Delany Koehn.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Giesbrecht of Salmon Arm, BC; and his children, Judy Bronzy (Morinville), Brenda (Robert Toews), Douglas (Edna Duerksen), Barbara (Danny Goertzen) and James (Suzanne Duerksen). He is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren.
