Caroline Josephine Freed Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Caroline Josephine Freed in Summerland, British Columbia, born in Nanaimo, British Columbia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 8, 2026 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Marcelle Clement LaRivière and Alfred Rumpf; and her sister Frances Hunt. She is survived by: her siblings, Vicki Knippelberg, Leon Rumpf and Sonia Mosley; her children, Vincent Hannas and Renée Tremmel (Hannas); her stepchildren, Leighton Freed, Rebecca Shandler and Jill Hawkes; her grandchildren, Blake Schuster, Liam Hannas, Ryan Hannas, Tiago Tremmel, Mateo Tremmel, Lexi Freed, Payten Shandler, Justin Shandler, Brayden Hawkes, Ethan Hawkes, Devan Hawkes and Dylan Hawkes; Michael Freed (Mike). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 12th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Dirty Laundry Winery (7311 Fiske St, Summerland, BC V0H1Z2).
