The memory of Elsa Maria Holmquist (Summerland, British Columbia), who passed away on December 22, 2025 at the age of 97, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Elsa may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her husband Erik Edvin Holmquist; her son Harry Holmquist; her son-in-law Karel'Chuck'; her siblings, Runar, Jonas, Nils, Erik and Viva; and her brother-in-law Heikki.
She is survived by: her children, Roy Holmquist (Marilyn) of Kelowna, BC and Louise Grim of Kelowna, BC; her daughter-in-law Diane Holmquist of Kamloops, BC; and her sister Annie Hakanen of Sweden. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, one great grandchild.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, February 16th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Julia Street Community Church (9918 Julia St, Summerland, BC V0H1Z5).
