He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Piller and Christina Piller; his wife Alma Johnston; and his siblings, Jack, Rod, Chisholm, Gordon, Ralph, Margaret, Isabel and Dolly.
He is survived by: his sons, Neil (Susan) of Camrose, Les of Grand Forks, BC and Brad of Edmonton; his grandchildren, Lindsay Squires (Paul) of Montville, NJ, Nancy Fortier (Shawn) of Calgary, Kevin Piller of Surrey, BC and Shannon Piller of Surrey, BC; his great grandchildren, Margot, Theodore and Henry Squires; his sisters, Kay Connell of New Westminster, BC and Florence Piller of Camrose; and his sisters-in-law, Cari Piller of Melville, Agnes Rupertus of Camrose and Betty Piller of Edmonton. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
