He was predeceased by : his parents, Luther Winkler and Beryntha Winkler of California; and his sister Laurel Watt of Washington. He is survived by : his wife Elizabeth; his children, Erick (Lauri), Paul (Katie) and Laurel (Eric); his grandchildren, Quincy, Sabine and Violet; his brother-in-law Gavin; and his nieces, Megan and Bronwen.
