It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Mary Melenko of Surrey, British Columbia, who passed away on February 21, 2021, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Mike; her parents, Alex Pawliuk and Rosie Pawliuk; and her brothers, John, Nick and Mike.

She is survived by: her children, Rita (Hank) of Valemount, BC. and Roger (Linda) of Surrey, BC.; her grandchildren, Terry (Lydia) of Surrey, BC, Sherry (David) of Abbotsford, BC. and Laura (Dave) of Surrey, BC; her great grandchildren, Koda and Amelia; and her siblings, Katie Andruchow (Langley), Nancy Zotek (Valemount), Irene Pelech (Ardrossan) and Bill Pawliuk (Valemount). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

“I was very sorry to hear of the passing of my Aunt Mary. I still have fond memories of visiting her home in Port Mann and of the many celebrations that we were part of over the years. I remember Aunt Mary as being very welcoming, pragmatic and hard working. She possessed a quiet inner strength that obviously played a role in her living a long life.
