“I attended Moscrop Junior High with Gerd and remember him well. He was always friendly, fun and intelligent. We lost contact later on, so I’m pleased to learn of his connection to the art world. He seemed quite cultured even back then! I’m sure he will be missed.”

“I grew up with Gerd, we were good friends and neighbours. He had a wicked sense of humour. Did not see much of him the last few years but did enjoy running into him at IGA and seeing some of his art collection at VAG shows. Fond memories, at Christmas his family lit real candles on the tree on Christmas eve, so neat! and taking the bus down to Bellingham to get saddle shoes and madras shirts. My sympathies to all who enjoyed his friendship, he will be missed. Janice Leong (Mildenhall)”

“I knew Gerd years ago.........we had some fun times together........he was funny, smart and entertaining......his interest in art was catching.......one of my favourite memories: he asked me to go to the theatre to see Silence of the Lambs........he was so scared and was moaning so loud I told him if he kept it up he would have to go and stand in the lobby........wonderful guy who was anything but boring.....he will certainly be greatly missed.........”
