He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob John Martens and Anna Martens (Kornelsen). He is survived by: his family Nickolai Reimer; his significant other Gertrude Esau; his significant other's children, Marian (Eb), Jim (Nena), Tilly (Aubrey), John (Tabitha) and Trudy (Manon); his siblings, Nick Martens, Anne Hamaguchi and Bill Bachman; and his great grandchild Marcus. He is also survived by his children, his grandchildren, and fifteen of his great-grandchildren.
