He was predeceased by: his parents, Maria Askounis and Pierris Askounis; and his brothers, Dimo and Yianni. He is survived by: his wife Vasiliki Doumakis (Vicky); his sons, Perry (Helen), Nick and George (Joanna); and his grandchildren, Victoria, Kosta, Dean, Anthony, Konstantina and Katie.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 1st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. George's Greek Orthodox Cathedral (4500 Arbutus St, Vancouver, BC V6J3V9). A committal service will be held on Monday, December 1st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park (3789 Royal Oak Ave, Burnaby, BC V5G4A9).
