She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry and Pauline Strelau; and her siblings, Emil and Hanna. She is survived by: her husband Kurt Eugene Mittelstaedt; her children, Rainer (Elizabeth), Leonard (Marilyn), Anita (Terry), Walter (Patty), Helga (Harry), Herb (Deena), Paul (Claudia) and Marty (Margit); and her siblings, Otto, Richard, Hilda and Doris. She is also survived by twenty-six grandchildren and their partners; forty-seven great-grandchildren.
