She was predeceased by: her husband Thomas Donald Smyth; and her parents, Sarah Greer and James McShane Carphin. She is survived by: her brother Jim; her sister-in-law Shannon Carphin; her nephews, Shane (Laura) and Ryan (Samy); and her sister-in-law Shirley Smyth. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and cousins.
That and having been isolated from family during COVID, led Maureen to move to Campbell River from Toronto in 2022 to be closer to Laurie.
