Vincent Shieh Obituary
Vincent Wei-Jong Shieh passed away peacefully with his loving wife Wendy by his side on December 13, 2017 in Vancouver general hospital, British Columbia, Canada at the young age of 48. Complications resulted from a sudden stroke in July was the cause of death. Loving husband, father, friend, director and dedicated businessman.
Honorable. Trusted. Reliable.
Wise, intelligent, knowledgeable and caring. Beloved by all who knew him. Vincent was generous, hardworking and accountable with a great sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife Wendy, sons Ian and Ethan. Determined to succeed, Vincent overcame many challenges including communicating with a different language when he first arrived in the U.S. for high school in Queens, New York City back in 1985. In high school, Vincent excelled in math and science.
He also participated in track and was one of the school’s fastest short distance runners. After graduating high school in 1989, Vincent continued his higher education at City College (CCNY) and Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) of New York City. Vincent began his career in the travel industry and further developed his business skills in the garment industry focusing on the production management space for several firms in the U.S. Over the course of 20+ years in the business, Vincent dedicated his last 10 years working for Perry Ellis.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at 1:00 pm on Monday, December 18, 2017 at West Point Grey Baptist Church, 4509 West 11th Avenue, Vancouver.
