He was predeceased by: his parents, Garnet Smith and Leona Smith. He is survived by: his wife Frances (Kitsco); his siblings, Daryl (Darlene), Ron (Tish), Kevin (Penny) and Joanne; his children, Laurie, Kelly (Nancy), Doug (Lisa) and Grant (Lisa); his grandchildren, Stephanie, Melanie (Billy), Katelyn (Mark), Mark (Kayla), Erika (Sean), Chloe (Thomas), Jacob Parks and Graydon (Mackenzie); and his great grandchildren, Anthony and Hadrian.
A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, May 6th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. James Catholic Church (2607 27 St, Vernon, BC V1T4W1).
Donations in Gary's memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of British Columbia or the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation.
