He was predeceased by: his wife Shelagh; his son Nigel; and his parents, Alice Reid and William Reid. He is survived by: his children, Simon (Patti), Jane (Doug), Amanda (Craig) and Kate; his grandchildren, Kristen (Mike), Matt (Steph), Harry (Bre), Jessica, Adam and Olivia; his great grandchildren, Weston and Avery; his sister Vera (Dick); and his children, Bernard and Shelagh. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
