Brian Everett Hanson Obituary

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Brian Everett Hanson. Brian passed quietly surrounded by family on July 14, 2022 in Victoria, British Columbia after bravely fighting illness for a number of months.

Brian was born in 1950 in Rainy River, Ontario to parents Everett and Irene Hanson. He grew up in his favourite place, which was the family home along the Rainy River. Upon completing high school, he moved to Abbotsford B.C. where he trained and acquired his certification as a plumber. He met and married his wife Maria, and worked there for a number of years before returning to Rainy River with his family. Eventually Brian was lured west again and his family finally settled on Pender Island, B.C.

Brian is survived by his mother Irene, siblings Wayne, Valerie, Randy and Tim; his wife Maria and his two cherished children Adrian and Tannis and five grandchildren; Nathan, Devan, Kolby, Korbin, and Madison.

Brian was very proud of his children and he loved to talk about their accomplishments. There was nothing Brian loved more than talking about family and past activities, especially if it was around a campfire along with a cold beer. His reminiscing and stories will be greatly missed.

No formal service is planned. His final resting place will be in his beloved Rainy River, Ontario.
