We announce the death of George C. W. Birch of Victoria, British Columbia, who passed away on August 22, 2026, at the age of 73. George will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. George will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew George will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture his life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. George’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley Birch and Jacqueline Birch; and his brother Kip. He is survived by: his wife Sue Graham; his children, Ryan (Katja), Michelle and Sheena (Dan); his granddaughter Amelia; and his sisters, Penny (Larry) and Darla (Brett).
