He was predeceased by : his daughter Nancy Lynn; and his sister Tina Ruddy. He is survived by : his wife Pat Smit (Atkinson); his brother Fred Smit; his son Jason Smit; his daughter-in-law Beth Smit; and his grandchildren, Angela Mary Smit and Nolan Jacob Smit.
