He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Winston McLuhan and Mary McLuhan (Paterson); his close friend Bob Hudson; his son Matthew; his granddaughter Jessica; his daughter Jessica; his wife Leslie McLuhan (Longoz); his son-in-law Chris Baer; his siblings-in-law, Julie Blakesley, Janet O'Reily and Steven Blakesley; and his nephew Tim Beaudoin.
