He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Newcombe and Ruby Newcombe. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Newcombe; his children, Peter (Line), Kari (Scott) and Andrew; his grandchildren, Emily, Ben, Karina, Jake, Julia, Emma and Matthew; and his siblings, Marjorie McCarty and Leigh Newcombe.
