He was predeceased by : his wife Mohinder Kaur. He is survived by : his children, Kashmir Singh Nijjer (late Kulwinder Kaur Nijjer), Parminder Kaur Virk (Jagir Singh Virk) and Rajdeep Singh Nijjer (Kuljinder Kaur Nijjer). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.
