It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shizue Tomiyama in Victoria, British Columbia, who passed away on June 28, 2023, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Yoshio Tomiyama; her parents, Makitaro Oga and Teru Oga; her grandson Patrick Tomiyama; her siblings, Takuta Oga, Toshio Oga, Yoshito Oga and Sumiko Miki; her parents-in-law, Kakuta and Kirino Tomiyama; her siblings-in-law, Hisaye Ohashi, Sumi Oga, Aiko Tomiyama, Yasuko Saruwatari, Mike Ohashi (Yoshio), Jack Fujimagari, Minoru "Mick" Saruwatari, Susumu Miki and Yukio Tomiyama; her niece Brenda Oga; and her nephew David Miki.
She is survived by: her children, Ken Tomiyama (Ethel), Rob Tomiyama (Bonnie), Doug Tomiyama, Jim Tomiyama and Pat Tomiyama; her grandchildren, Kim Shaw (Cam), Karin Winter, Kathryn Rutley-Tomiyama (Steven), Kaitlyn Brown, Ryan Tomiyama (Esther) and Alison Muller (Mike); her great grandchildren, Ellie Tomiyama, Liam, Laurel Winter, Porter Tomiyama, Takara, Brielle and Micah Rutley; and her siblings-in-law, Mitsuko Oga, Noriko Oga, Hiroye Fujimagari, Takaye Tomiyama and Akira Tomiyama. She is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.
