He was predeceased by: his brother Ardell Hanson. He is survived by: his wife Virtue (Klukewich) of Meacham; his children, Douglas, Cindy Hanson (Doug Racine), Lori Hanson and Yvonne Hanson (Bob Smith); his grandchildren, Vanya Hanson, Cal Lakevold, Xochitl, Sasha, Xilonen, Silvio Hanson-Pastran, Nadja, Yolande and Carmin Smith-Hanson; his sister Gail Grotkowski (Dennis); Njiba, Nico, Rio and Solanna.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Western Development Museum in Saskatoon.
