He was predeceased by: his parents, George Fillinger and Lucille Fillinger; his sisters, Linda Ray and Lori Fillinger; and his nephew Chris Fillinger.

He is survived by: his wife Shirley; his brother Gary (Ilona) of Chilliwack; his sibling's children, Ian (Michele), Dan (Margaret), Patricia Ray, Dean (Tracy) and David Montgomery (Luanne) of Quesnel; and his pet Jack. He is also survived by children, relatives.
