She was predeceased by: her parents, Irene May Nelson and Roland Gimbel; and her brother Ron Black. She is survived by: her husband Dennis Glenn Lawtey; her sons, Paul David Lawtey, Robert Lawtey (Bob) and Douglas Glen Lawtey (Michelle); her grandchildren, Dustin, Jennifer, Tyler, Patrick, Dallas, Jake and Cade; her great grandchildren, Daniel, Sean, Emersyn and Camryn; and her siblings, Dennis Nelson (Patricia) and Vicky Conroy (Pat).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada.
