She was predeceased by: her brother Julius of Germany. She is survived by: her children, Ron (Amy), Karin Birrell (Rob) and Sandra Harmel Kahn; her spouse Julius Harmel; and her sisters, Edith of Winfield, BC, Anna of Germany and Elfreda of Lavington, BC.. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
